How to Make the Best Shahi Paneer:

  1. Paneer quality: For the best texture, use soft, fresh paneer. You have two options: create it at home or purchase it from a reliable supplier.
  • Time Needed for Marination: Give the paneer at least 30 minutes to marinate, but preferably more. This facilitates the marinade’s tastes being absorbed by the paneer.
  • Nuts & Seeds Paste: To achieve a smooth and creamy gravy, soak cashews, melon seeds, and poppy seeds before blending.
  • Creamy Texture: The meal has a thick, creamy texture because to the heavy cream infusion. You can change the amount to suit your own tastes.
  • Reducing Acidity: Sugar or honey is used to reduce tomato acidity and improve flavor overall.
  • Garnish: Fresh coriander leaves offer a crisp scent along with a splash of color. For an extra crunch, you can also add finely chopped nuts as a garnish.
  • Variations: Taste and adjust the red chili powder to your desired amount of spiciness. For an even more decadent taste, you can even dab in some saffron.
  • Shahi Paneer goes nicely with Indian breads like roti or naan. For a hearty supper, it can also be served with pulao or steamed rice.
